La cucaracha, La cucaracha

More like las cucarachas. That’s right, we’ve got roaches. They like to have parties in my room at night. I heard a noise last Thursday while I was sleeping that sounded like water dripping and got up to scope out the scene. I lifted up my backpack and there she was: the mother of all cockroaches. Ginormous.

I ran downstairs to grab my weapon (my sneaker of course) and on the way back to my room saw another one in the hallway. I killed that sucker then I walked into my room and saw another one near the bottom of my wardrobe. I killed that guy and then on the way to kill Mama Roach, I stepped on another one with my bare foot. I heard his bones crack and then felt a gooey presence on my heel. Yummy. At that point, I was a little pissed and probably a little crazed, so I think I beat the crap out of the Mrs.

So Dawn told me the other day we have mice back in the Ardmore apartment. What’s worse? Cockroaches or mice? Anyone want to weigh in? C’mon, let me see some comments!!! Are people reading this or what?

As the godmother of countless mice- I'd definitely have to say that roaches are worse.

**Warning** Roaches like to crawl inside cardboard (i.e. cereal boxes). Before you eat your cereal, smell the box. If it smells funky- toss it. Or set it on fire.

Though, I wouldn't be suprised if Romanian cardboard smelled funky to begin with...

I also heard that you shouldn't squash roaches b/c their eggs get scattered when they get smooshed- not sure if its an old wives tale or not...

Good luck roach huntress.

I agree with Cathy -- there's just something about roaches. Little furry (or unfurry) mice could bite you and it might hurt a little eentsy bit, but I'm not sure a roach bite would hurt. Also, I'm fairly certain that, despite the before-going-to-bed brushing, mice might have a keen enough sense of smell where they could smell any remnants of sharp cheddar cheese, or perhaps peanut butter, on your breath, and might therefore climb up onto your bed and wanna check it out while you're sleeping. Can mice even climb that high? I bet roaches sure can.

And, as usual, I have no point. Good luck Madame RK...

oh gosh... it's a really tough choice considering i have who knows how many mice crawling around inside the walls of this place (well probably half as many now that cathy and her wives tales had me spraying the walls with vinegar... the stench nearly killed me) however, i think i'd have to go with roaches as worse because you can hear them while you are laying in bed at night. thank god i haven't heard the mice yet and they seem to be contained in the kitchen.

do they make romanian roach spray? i'll try to send some to ya if you want.

we are at war with the pests! ew.

p.s. kenny, "mice are excellent climbers" according to terminix

Did it look like these guys:

I'd love to beat the hell out of them with a sneaker.

I've heard the same things about squishing roaches and having their eggs scatter everywhere. You better be careful....all the babies will be after you!!

I'd have to go with roaches being worse. At least mich are semi-attractive even perhaps cute looking and a roach is just ugly...lol. Hope everything else is going well aside from the infestation. Miss you and can't wait till you get back <3

Hey! People are reading this! Yay!!! Now that's what I'm talkin about with the comments. I'm going with mice being worse. I can deal with insects, not rodents. And yes, mice are excellent climbers. My grandmother can attest to having mice run up her nightgown while in her bed. Yuuuuuuuuck.

Oh I'm so for voting that cockroaches are worse. Be thankful they don't fly like they do in the south. There's nothing like chasing them around with a can of hairspray in the middle of the night. I don't think I'd be coping quite as well as you have with them. bbblllleeekkkk
